Rhythm & Roots - Lakeshore

Brave the stage at Rhythm & Roots! Whether your talent is spoken word, playing an instrument, or performing a dance, we want YOU up there showcasing your skills!

IGNITE and Humber’s Black Student Support & Engagement are bringing you a chance to connect and enjoy an afternoon filled with entertainment, creativity and good vibes.

Have a talent you’ve been waiting to share? Step into the spotlight and sign up for the open mic! Performers can showcase whatever they’re passionate about, whether that’s dance, music, acting, singing, poetry, or another talent you want to bring to the stage.

You don’t have to be a professional performer to participate; this event is the space to have fun, express yourself and share something you love with your community.

Getting up in front of a crowd can be intimidating, that’s why everyone who participates will receive a gift card as a reward for their bravery. It’s your chance to step outside your comfort zone and show off what you can do!

The fun doesn’t stop at the performances. A photo booth and board games will give you and your friends a chance to make memories and you can get some wearable designs done by henna artists!

Whether you’re wanting to perform or simply enjoy some live entertainment, Rhythm & Roots has something for everyone. Come celebrate the creativity within your campus and discover new talents. Bring your energy and get ready to find your rhythm at Rhythm & Roots!
